Fury Trashes Hearn After Joshua Fight Talks Collapse

Tyson Fury has pulled the plug on negotiations with Anthony Joshua after months of back-and-forth over a heavyweight bout that never materialized.

The former champion announced on social media that he's moving on to other opponents, saying Joshua's team has shown no real commitment to making the fight happen. MMA Fighting reports that disagreements over location derailed the deal, with Fury's side pushing for a U.S. venue while Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn insisted on England. The involvement of Turki Alalshikh and Zuffa Boxing still wasn't enough to bridge the gap.

Fury Blasts Hearn And Questions Joshua's Desire

Fury did not hold back in his assessment of the collapsed talks. "I can't make a coward fight, can I?" he said in the video message, per MMA Fighting. "If A.J. was any sort of man, he'd overrule the sausage and he'd stand up and fight but obviously he's not."

The 38-year-old heavyweight said he's wasted enough time on a matchup that's been discussed for a decade without reaching the contract stage. He pointed to Daniel Dubois' knockout of Joshua as evidence the former champion lacks the hunger for a risky showdown.

Fury confirmed he'll pursue fights with other world champions willing to sign on the dotted line. No opponent or date has been announced, though he mentioned targeting November for his next outing.
