Fury And Joshua Share Laugh At First Staredown

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua traded jabs at the kickoff presser for their Dec. 11 fight in Cardiff, but the staredown ended with both men laughing.

The heavyweights met inside the British Airways Arc in London for their first promotional event since the fight was announced, per BJPENN.com. Fury used the platform to describe himself as an unlikely champion. "I stand here today as the most awkwardly built world heavyweight champion in the history of the sport," he said, according to the report. "I'm a bald, fat, bearded, ugly, slow, ponderous, all of the above."

Joshua Fires Back With Friendly Dig

Joshua responded quickly. "It's true what they say," he quipped. Fury returned fire with a backhanded compliment of his own, saying Joshua was "carved in stone like Olympia, made of marble," but added that "every time he gets cracked on the jaw he falls over." Joshua reportedly agreed with that assessment as well.

The exchange drew laughs from the crowd. After the verbal sparring, the two shared a cordial moment on stage during their face-off.

The fight airs live on Netflix. Fury last fought on the platform in April, beating Arslanbek Makhmudov by decision.
