Fernandez Rallies For KO In BKB Mexico Debut

Julian Fernandez survived an early knockdown to stop Dan Podmore in the second round and retain his super cruiserweight title at BKB 59 in Tijuana.

The hometown fighter hit the canvas in the opening round but rallied to drop Podmore later in the frame, according to Sherdog. Fernandez needed just over a minute in the second to finish the job, landing the shots that earned him knockout of the night honors in Bare Knuckle Boxing's first event on Mexican soil.

Ulloa Dominates Nguyen In Co-Main Event

Cecy Ulloa battered Andy Nguyen across three rounds in the flyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super flyweight title co-feature. Nguyen could not answer the bell for the fourth after absorbing sustained punishment.

Pablo Felipe Anguiano needed 41 seconds to finish Ricardo Ramses Rueda in the first round. Adrian Gonzalez stopped Javier Santiago Valverde at 2:16 of round one, while Jonathan Duran knocked out Kevin Millan Sanchez late in the second.

The card at Auditorio Municipal featured one no contest when Romario Ovalle and Marco Chino Villa were stopped due to an accidental headbutt 45 seconds into the third round.
