Ferea Calls Out Cyborg After BKFC 92 Finish
Christine Ferea defended her BKFC flyweight title with a second-round stoppage of Sofia Landi at Fenway Park on Saturday night, then used her post-fight interview to challenge Cris Cyborg to come out of retirement.
Ferea battered Landi through the opening round at BKFC 92 in Boston before dropping her twice in the second, per MMA Mania. The Italian street fighter climbed to her feet after the first knockdown but stumbled backward following the second, forcing the referee to wave off the contest just 33 seconds into the frame.
Ferea Pursuing Cyborg Superfight
The finish marked Ferea's fifth title defense and extended her winning streak to 10 consecutive bare-knuckle bouts. Her lone BKFC loss came against Helen Peralta in 2019. Now 12-1 in the promotion, Ferea addressed Cyborg directly in the cage.
"Cris, come out of retirement," Ferea said, according to the report. "I love you. You're the GOAT, but I want to face you. I've looked up to you my entire career. Let's do it. Real fighting, bare knuckle — BKFC, baby."
Ferea previously called for the matchup after stopping Bec Rawlings at BKFC 56 in December 2023. BKFC president Dave Feldman later confirmed that Cyborg had shown interest in competing for the promotion, though no bout has materialised.
Cyborg last competed in boxing and has not publicly responded to the latest challenge. Ferea has cleared out her division and holds both the flyweight strap and the Queen of Violence crown, leaving few credible challengers at 125 pounds.
