Fedor Emelianenko Confirms Still Open To Fight At 50

Fedor Emelianenko has not ruled out a return to competition despite turning 50 this September.

The heavyweight legend told MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn that he continues training with his team and would consider fighting again for the right opportunity. "Competition-wise, if it's going to be a good offer, and it makes sense, why not? I can compete still," he said.

Emelianenko Eyes Boxing Along With MMA Return

Emelianenko last fought in February 2023, when Ryan Bader stopped him in the first round of their Bellator heavyweight title bout. He told Bohn that boxing interests him as well. "We worked on boxing, so boxing is interesting," he said.

The Russian has spent his time away from prizefighting coaching reigning PFL heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov, who defends his title against Sergey Bilostenniy in Dubai on Nov. 14. Emelianenko appeared at the launch event for Scott Coker's Ki MMA promotion, scheduled to hold its inaugural show in the first quarter of 2027.

Emelianenko joked about the long-discussed dream fight with Randy Couture, who turned 63 in June.
