Fatima Kline targets Zhang Weili, Suarez after UFC Oklahoma City
Fatima Kline wants a former champion next.
The strawweight contender is targeting either Zhang Weili or Tatiana Suarez after beating Tabatha Ricci by unanimous decision at UFC Oklahoma City, according to Sherdog. Kline, who has won four straight since losing her UFC debut in 2024, told Ariel Helwani that her performance warrants an immediate step up in competition.
Kline confident despite experience gap with Zhang, Suarez
"It seems like everybody thinks my greatest challenge would be Weili," Kline said, per Helwani's X account. "I think I can beat the best in the world, so I'd be more than happy to take that, but I could see Tatiana as well." The 26-year-old acknowledged that both Zhang and Suarez carry more cage time but insisted the skill gap tilts in her favor. "Sure, they might have more experience than me, but I don't think in any way they have more skill than me," she added.
Zhang won the strawweight title for a second time in 2022 and defended it three times before moving up to flyweight. She has not fought since losing a decision to Valentina Shevchenko in a November title bid. Suarez rebounded from her own title loss to Zhang last year with back-to-back wins and sits as one of the division's top contenders.
Kline now holds a 10-1 professional record with two finishes in her current four-fight streak. She expects the UFC to book one of the marquee names immediately.
