Fans have criticized the Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn rematch, which will take place on November 15.

The rematch comes after the first fight produced many controversial talking points. Eubank Jr. egged Benn during their build-up in reference to the latter’s failed VADA tests for Clomiphene, resulting in a fine. There were also safety concerns with the weight. Eubank failed to make 160, while he also had to comply with a 10-pound rehydration clause. Chris Eubank Sr. was against the fight due to the weight concerns, but he turned up, as his son won via a unanimous decision. Eubank Sr. was vocal after the win, hoping that his son would retire.

"I must remember what happened. I saw my son in a touch or go situation. Life or death. He doesn’t respect it, because he’s a warrior, and a warrior goes out on his shield, which he proved. “He’s not going to listen to the rules. If he can evade the rules, if he can somehow sidestep the rules, he will, because he’s a warrior. It would be an extraordinary gift for him if he’s wise enough to make the decision to walk off in the sunset," Eubank said

Should The Rematch Happen?

However, Eubank was fined once again after his alleged use of sauna suits to cut weight, something which is banned by the British Boxing Board of Control. The initial reports suggested that Eubank did not want the rematch due to worries over the weight, as the targeted September 20 date was removed. That suggested that Eubank would potentially wait for a Canelo Alvarez fight after the latter stated that he would like to fight in England before retires. Meanwhile, Benn was being tipped to move back down to 147, which is his natural weight class. Fans have had a lot to say about the announcement, with many being against the rematch.
