Edgar Berlanga and Hamzah Sheeraz box each other this weekend, as boxing insiders gave their predictions.

Berlanga enters into the fight with a first-round stoppage win against Jonathan González Ortiz. This was the perfect response after suffering his first defeat to Canelo Alvarez in the previous fight. Berlanga has said that he wants to run things back against Canelo, meaning it is vital that he secures the victory. Sheerez faces the biggest test of his career, with plenty to prove. Sheeraz moved up from middleweight following his controversial split draw over Carlos Adames in his last fight for the WBC 160-pound belt. Sheeraz was lucky to get away with a draw, as he faces extra scrutiny over his skills. Here is how boxing insiders saw the fight playing out.

Pre-Fight

"Carlos Adames really won that fight. They all know it. You could see his face. I was watching Turki [Alalshikh] the whole fight. I watched the fight like 20 times. Turki was getting up from his seat, leaving, coming back. [Sheeraz’s promoter] Frank Warren was screaming, ‘Ahhhh.’ His coach knew he lost. That’s why he fired his coach because his coach knew he lost. He showed it on national television. Like, he knew. You got a gift, bro. There’s a difference. You’re fed with a silver spoon, right? You’ve got one of the richest families in Saudi backing you up," Berlanga stated

"It’s not just about winning. It’s about putting on a performance because the U.S. fans truly appreciate the razzmatazz and the drama that comes with a fight of this magnitude. The buck stops with me at the minute. I definitely have to impress because it’s my first fight in the USA, so I need to kind of get these fans over here behind me and let them know who Hamzah Sheeraz really is," Sheeraz said
