In some boxing news, Kim Clavel lost out the chance to become a two-time world champion after losing a split decision to Evelin Bermudez.

In a bout for the IBF and WBO junior flyweight belts, Clavel came second best in a controversial decision: 98-92, 96-94, and 96-94.

Bermudez managed to retain her titles in the first defense as a unified champion after she had grabbed them against Tania Enriquez.

The win reduced Clavel’s chances of having a rematch with Yesica Plata, the only other fight she had not managed to defeat. And yet, it was clear that there was some unfinished business following the loss.

Clavel made it clear that she had been robbed based on Bermudez’s failure to exert enough pressure to win the rounds. And this came to a head in her reaction towards the fight.

"You can’t win a fight in the last 10 seconds. I had good discipline and a great defense and I did everything and I felt I won that fight," Clavel said

But when it came to looking at the actual scoring, it was clear that there was a difference of opinion which was played out on social media.
