Ennis-Kelly Unification Targeted For December
Boxing News Staff
Boxing Editorial Team ·
Eddie Hearn has confirmed plans for a three-belt unification between Jaron Ennis and Josh Kelly, targeting a December or early January date.
Kelly's trainer, Adam Booth, previously said both sides had agreed to terms and were only waiting on a date and venue, a process simplified by both fighters being signed to Matchroom.
Ennis made his 154-pound debut with a first-round stoppage of Uisma Lima before outboxing Xander Zayas in June to add the WBO and WBA titles. A long-rumored fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr. hasn't picked back up despite Ortiz recently settling his dispute with Golden Boy.
