Frankie Edgar says Conor McGregor's injury-marred rematch with Max Holloway at UFC 329 was bad news all around.

McGregor returned to the cage in July after five years away but suffered another injury during the International Fight Week bout with Holloway. Edgar, who lost to Holloway in a title fight and shares lightweight history with McGregor, weighed in on the outcome.

Edgar's Take On The UFC 329 Setback

"Yeah, it's just unfortunate. It just sucks. Nothing good about that outcome for either guy," Edgar told Bowks Talking Bouts, per BJPenn.com. "But that's just the fight game. Crazy stuff happens all the time. No one anticipated that. You got to feel for Conor in that moment."

Edgar closed with a blunt assessment of the situation, saying it "sucks" but noting that "life sucks sometimes."

Meanwhile, Ian Machado Garry has floated a Dublin super show featuring himself and McGregor. Garry challenges Islam Makhachev for the welterweight title at UFC 330 in Philadelphia this weekend and said a Croke Park event could happen if he wins the belt, pointing to Katie Taylor's upcoming fight at the venue as proof the location works for combat sports.
