Former UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili took to social media to question whether Petr Yan is avoiding their trilogy fight.
Dvalishvili posted on Threads that he has been cleared to return from a fractured nose and is waiting for Yan to commit to a date. "Petr it's been a long time since I've seen you! Are you alive?" Dvalishvili wrote, per BJ Penn.com. "I've been waiting since Springtime. Let me know when you're coming back, I kinda miss you."

When Yan vs. Dvalishvili 3 Could Happen
Yan reclaimed the bantamweight title by unanimous decision over Dvalishvili at UFC 323 last year. The loss snapped Dvalishvili's run of wins over Sean O'Malley, Cory Sandhagen, and Henry Cejudo. Dvalishvili dominated their first meeting at a UFC Fight Night card in 2023.
Recent reports suggest the UFC is targeting UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi this October for the trilogy. UFC 332 in Salt Lake City is another option. Yan has not responded to Dvalishvili's challenge as of this writing.

The trilogy is rumoured to be the UFC's preferred next bantamweight title fight despite recent wins by O'Malley and Umar Nurmagomedov. An announcement could come in the coming weeks depending on the promotion's schedule for the rest of 2026.
