Dvalishvili Spars Zuckerberg On Floating Platform
Former UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili sparred with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on a floating barge in the middle of a lake.
Zuckerberg, who has trained mixed martial arts for several years, reportedly landed jabs, body kicks and a takedown during the light session with Dvalishvili, according to Sherdog. The session ended with both men dumping each other into the water — Zuckerberg kicked the Georgian off the platform first before Dvalishvili returned the favour by throwing the billionaire into the lake.
Zuckerberg's MMA Training Continues
The Meta CEO began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu during the pandemic and took gold and silver at BJJ Tour Silicon Valley in 2023. His coach at the time, Dave Camarillo, who once trained Cain Velasquez, called Zuckerberg one of his best students. Zuckerberg has since sparred with Alex Pereira, Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya.
Dvalishvili lost his UFC bantamweight title to Petr Yan in a rematch last December, evening their rivalry at one apiece. Both fighters have indicated they are gearing up for a trilogy bout, though the UFC has not confirmed a date.
