De Ridder Rips Kill Cliff FC After ATT Move

Reinier de Ridder has left Kill Cliff FC for American Top Team after what he described as a steady decline in training quality at his former gym.

The former ONE Championship two-division titleholder blamed the drop-off on key coaching absences. Head coach Henri Hooft had been away for several months due to personal matters, de Ridder told Full Mount MMA, while Aung La N Sang — one of his preferred training partners — opened his own facility and scaled back his Kill Cliff presence. The exodus of top fighters followed, de Ridder said, as class content deteriorated.

"Some stuff was just not good at Kill Cliff the last six months," de Ridder said, per Sherdog. "A lot of big guys left because just the content of the classes was not that good. So, it was time to make a change, unfortunately. Cause I really liked them, really liked the atmosphere, liked everything there."

The Dutchman fights Roman Dolidze at 205 pounds on August 22 at UFC Sacramento. He moved up to light heavyweight after back-to-back losses to Brendan Allen and Caio Borralho ended a four-fight winning streak that included victories over Bo Nickal and Robert Whittaker.

De Ridder said the switch to ATT has given him access to high-level sparring partners and coaching he felt was missing in recent months at Kill Cliff FC. He meets Dolidze at Golden 1 Center in California.
