Delgado Vows To Put Silva's 'Dog' Down At Noche UFC 4

Jose Delgado plans to knock out Jean Silva at Noche UFC 4 and immediately demand a featherweight title eliminator.

Delgado, who replaced the injured Yair Rodriguez on three weeks' notice, meets the sixth-ranked Silva in the main event Sept. 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The Arizona native told Yahoo Sports he expects a violent finish. "I expect to break this guy, and I expect a freaking stunner of a knockout," he said, per MMA Mania. "Then I get Volkanovski next."

Delgado Dismisses Silva's 'Lord' Persona

Silva has built a reputation on intensity and his eccentric "Lord" character, but Delgado called the act a disguise. "It's an illusion for him, man. He's a coward," Delgado said. "He needs that mask to make himself feel good. It's a disguise, and it's a farce. I don't respect it." He added that Silva tried to act friendly at the face-off while preparing to hurt him in the cage. "I will put him down like a dog," Delgado said.

Silva is 6-1 in the UFC with five stoppages, including a recent win over Arnold Allen. His only octagon loss came against Diego Lopes. Delgado enters on a two-fight streak with decision wins over Andre Fili and Austin Bashi, bringing his UFC record to 4-1.

If Delgado pulls off the upset in his hometown, his case for a crack at the Alexander Volkanovski-Movsar Evloev winner at UFC 333 becomes much harder to ignore.
