Till Blasts Paul After Dubai Fight Switch
Darren Till has lashed out at Jake Paul after the YouTuber-turned-boxer selected Cedric Doumbe for a Christmas Eve card in Dubai rather than the former UFC welterweight contender.
Paul revealed Monday that Doumbe will meet him in an eight-round cruiserweight bout at 200 pounds on Dec. 24 at Coca-Cola Arena. Till told Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show that he believed negotiations had progressed and had already flown his coach in for two weeks of camp work.
Till Questions Paul's Opponent Choice
The Liverpool fighter suggested Paul opted for a smaller opponent following the broken jaw he sustained in his knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua last December. Till argued that Doumbe presents a far easier challenge than he would have at 215 pounds. "Jake's a fraud," Till said, per Sherdog.
Till said the preparation cost him roughly £5,000 and claimed he would have provided more danger than the French kickboxer. He argued his current weight matches Paul's while offering superior speed and power for what would have been his third fight of the year.
