Dana White On Medic's Superstar Trajectory After UFC Belgrade

Dana White says Uros Medic is on the right track to stardom following a 30-second knockout of Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Belgrade on Saturday.

Medic stopped Rodriguez via TKO in the opening half-minute in front of his home crowd, marking yet another first-round finish for the Serbian welterweight. According to MMA Junkie, White told reporters after the fight that Medic could not have made a bigger statement.

Medic's Knockout Record At Welterweight

"First of all, he has the most first-round KOs in the division's history," White said. "He's got the longest streak of KOs in the division's history. Third longest first-round KO streak in the sport, I think. The highest knockdown rate — he's got a ton of records in knocking people out in the first round." White added that if Medic continues climbing the rankings with quick finishes, he has all the ingredients needed to become a superstar.

The UFC boss noted that Medic essentially finished Rodriguez with the opening punch. The follow-up strikes landed on the chest and back of the head before ground strikes ended it, per BJPenn.com. "I don't know how you can win more impressively than you did," White said.

Medic has called out former welterweight champion Leon Edwards. He said if that matchup does not materialize, he wants a ranked opponent at 170 pounds. The UFC has not yet announced his next booking.
