Dana White calls for boxing sanctioning body reforms in Bunce interview

Dana White held nothing back when he sat down with Steve Bunce for BBC Radio 5 Live's boxing podcast this week, calling for sweeping changes to how the sport is run and taking aim at sanctioning bodies.

The Zuffa Boxing boss, whose move into professional boxing has drawn criticism from established promoters, told Bunce he remains unfazed by the pushback. White addressed his ongoing tensions with Eddie Hearn and shared his unfiltered views on boxing's governing organizations, according to the BBC broadcast released Monday.

White's vision for boxing reform

White laid out his vision for overhauling a sport he believes is hamstrung by outdated structures. The 33-minute conversation, described by the BBC as candid and at times controversial, covered White's thoughts on the people running boxing and the systemic changes he thinks are necessary.

The interview comes as White continues to position Zuffa Boxing as a disruptive force in a sport he has long criticized from his perch atop the UFC. White made clear he is not concerned about ruffling feathers among boxing's established power brokers.

The full interview is available on BBC Sounds and will remain accessible for over a year.
