Crawford And Ennis Clash

Terence Crawford and Jaron Ennis traded pointed remarks during DAZN's broadcast of Andy Ruiz Jr.'s comeback fight, reigniting a rivalry that's simmered for years despite the two never sharing a ring.

Crawford, who retired undefeated as a five-division champion, has previously downplayed Ennis's win over Xander Zayas and predicted both Sebastian Fundora and Vergil Ortiz Jr. would expose flaws in his game. Ennis has largely shrugged off the criticism, noting Crawford is retired, though he and promoter Eddie Hearn have floated a comeback fight as an option, calling it "easy work."

The back-and-forth continued Friday, with Crawford maintaining he'd have had too much for Ennis and arguing that real recognition will only come if Ennis proves himself against elite 154-pound opposition like Fundora and Ortiz.

Ennis, who unified the welterweight division before moving up to stop Zayas for the WBA and WBO super welterweight titles, is reportedly closing in on a unification deal with IBF champion Josh Kelly, expected later this year.
