Covington Tears Into Garry After UFC 330 Loss

Colby Covington took aim at Ian Garry and Bo Nickal in a Submission Radio interview, dismissing both fighters after recent setbacks.

The former UFC interim welterweight champion went after Garry following his failed title challenge against Islam Makhachev at UFC 330, making pointed remarks about the Irishman's personal life. Covington said he barely watched the fight but enjoyed seeing Garry exposed in the cage. When asked about facing Garry in a grappling match, Covington declined. "I don't know if I want to roll around with this guy," he told Submission Radio.

Covington also addressed Nickal's decision loss to Max McEnelly under the Real American Freestyle banner earlier this month. The outspoken welterweight said Nickal's reputation as an elite wrestler has evaporated and he no longer wants the matchup.

"He talked a big game, but look what happens every time he's on the world stage," Covington said, per Sherdog. "He comes up short. He's not undefeated. The mystique, the scary guy that they tried to build up to be this killer, you know, it's not there anymore."

Nickal remains unbeaten in his UFC middleweight run despite the setback in competitive wrestling. Covington has not fought since his loss to Leon Edwards last year.
