Court McGee Announces Retirement Fight At UFC 332

Tom Rashid
UFC & MMA Lead Writer ·

Court McGee will hang up his gloves after UFC 332 in Salt Lake City this October, ending a 16-year run that began with his Season 11 Ultimate Fighter win in 2010.

McGee told fans in an Instagram video that he signed his final contract with the promotion. "I've negotiated my last either five or six contracts, usually four-fight deals — actually, all of them are four-fight deals, but I signed my last fight in my last four-fight contract," he said, per MMA Mania.

The 41-year-old welterweight will compete at Delta Center on October 3, with no opponent named yet. McGee (22-14) is coming off a decision loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC Atlanta and has won just one of his last five.

McGee considered retiring before undergoing neck surgery, but came back to renegotiate one more four-fight deal. His consistency wavered over the years — he never strung together more than two wins in a row after his TUF finals victory in 2011 — but he faced some of the division's best, including former champions Robert Whittaker, Sean Strickland, and Carlos Condit.
