Waldo Cortes-Acosta expects a knockout finish when he faces Johnny Walker in Saturday's UFC Vegas 124 main event.
The Dominican heavyweight dismissed any need for a feeling-out process against Walker, telling media day that his strategy is straightforward. "I go after him and look to break his head," Cortes-Acosta said, according to BJ Penn. He added that his own durability is solid as metal while his power sends opponents to sleep when he establishes proper footwork.

Walker's Defensive Vulnerability A Key Factor
Cortes-Acosta believes the Brazilian struggled at heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight specifically because opponents repeatedly knocked him out. He described Walker's chin as resembling a doorbell in its accessibility. The move up in weight may offer Walker hope for a title run, Cortes-Acosta said, but the path requires getting through established contenders at the division first.
Walker has one heavyweight appearance on his record, a stoppage of Mick Parkin. Cortes-Acosta enters off consecutive decision setbacks to Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov but owns stoppage victories against Lewis, Spivac and Arlovski during his UFC tenure.
