Cormier Says Salkilld Ready For Top 5 After Gamrot Win
Quillan Salkilld should face a top-five lightweight next, according to Daniel Cormier, after the Australian's first-round submission of Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Vegas 120.
Salkilld, 26 and undefeated, secured a rear-naked choke finish against the Polish contender in a result few predicted. The surging lightweight landed early strikes before taking the action to the mat and locking in the submission, per BJPenn.com.

Cormier Compares Salkilld To Oliveira
Cormier told his YouTube audience that Salkilld looked more impressive against both Gamrot and Beneil Dariush than Charles Oliveira did when facing the same opponents. "Quillan Salkilld has now done to Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot, what Charles Oliveira has done, but faster — and better, honestly," Cormier said, as reported by MMA Junkie.
The former two-division UFC champion added that he would support matchups against Oliveira, Paddy Pimblett, or Benoit Saint Denis. "I would not be upset if this young man got a Charles Oliveira," Cormier said. "It's hard now to see a matchup style that he can't handle."
