Morales Weighs 193 Pounds Six Days From UFC 330 Backup
Michael Morales faces a brutal cut to make championship weight as the backup for Saturday's UFC 330 main event.
The Ecuadorian welterweight posted Instagram stories over the weekend revealing he still weighed 193.5 pounds with less than a week until Friday's weigh-ins, according to MMA Fighting. Morales must hit 170 pounds to serve as the standby for Islam Makhachev's title defense against Ian Garry.

Morales Drops Three Pounds in 24 Hours
Morales later updated his followers with another post showing he had dropped to 190.7 pounds. His initial story appeared to show him at 223.1 pounds at the start of camp. Cutting more than 20 pounds in a fight week is an extreme ask for a backup fighter who may never step into the octagon, but Morales seems committed to the weight drop.
UFC 330 takes place Saturday with weigh-ins scheduled for Friday afternoon.
