Conor McGregor says Terence Crawford rejected $200M boxing deal
Conor McGregor says welterweight boxing champion Terence Crawford passed on a two-fight package worth $200 million.
The former UFC dual-weight champion made the claim in a social media post that did not specify when the alleged offer was presented or which promotion would have backed it, according to MMA Mania. McGregor has floated multiple boxing crossovers since his 2017 mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather but has not stepped into a ring since.
Crawford's silence and McGregor's boxing future
Crawford, who unified the welterweight division and holds wins over Errol Spence Jr. and Shawn Porter, has not publicly addressed McGregor's statement. The Omaha native is widely regarded as one of the sport's top pound-for-pound fighters and typically commands eight-figure purses for title defenses.
McGregor has not fought in MMA since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. He remains under contract with the UFC, which complicates any boxing venture unless the promotion co-promotes or grants a special release as it did for the Mayweather bout.
No timeline has been announced for McGregor's return to either sport, and no independent confirmation of the $200 million offer has surfaced.
