Conor McGregor says scan results on leg injury coming today
Conor McGregor says he will receive scan results on his leg injury today, nearly a week after his UFC 329 loss to Max Holloway ended in just over a minute.
The Irish fighter posted the update on Instagram alongside dozens of promotional posts for his new energy drink brand, Mac Energy. "A few notes," McGregor wrote. "1. I will have the results of the scan on my leg tomorrow. 2. The fight should be a no contest and all bets returned."
Questions mount over McGregor's pre-fight condition
The timeline has raised eyebrows among fans and observers who note that McGregor injured his leg on the first kick he threw at T-Mobile Arena on July 11. According to a report by MMA Mania, footage from fight week showed McGregor stumbling while putting on shoes, and he was spotted entering a Las Vegas pain clinic days before the bout. Roughly 85 percent of bets on the fight were placed on McGregor, per ESPN.
McGregor went down early in the welterweight contest after his leg buckled, bringing an abrupt end to his first fight in five years. The former two-division champion has since flooded his social media with posts promoting Mac Energy rather than addressing the fight outcome directly.
No official word yet on the nature or severity of the injury, or whether it will affect his plans for a potential return to the octagon.
