Conor McGregor targets 2027 International Fight Week for final UFC bout

Conor McGregor has set his sights on International Fight Week 2027 for what he calls his final UFC appearance.

The former two-division champion posted on Instagram Sunday with a video from his UFC 329 warm-up, writing, "What was to be a generational beating is now to be reset. IFW 2027. The Last Dance," according to MMA Fighting. McGregor tore his ACL throwing his first kick against Max Holloway at UFC 329 in July and underwent surgery to repair the damage.

McGregor's recovery timeline matches UFC contract endgame

UFC CEO Dana White told reporters he expects McGregor out at least a year, a window that aligns with the Irish star's plan to close out his promotional contract before testing free agency. McGregor has repeatedly stated he will fulfill his UFC obligations before exploring options outside the octagon, including a potential return to boxing or a move to BKFC, where he holds an ownership stake.

The Holloway rematch remains unconfirmed by UFC officials, per the report. Rebooking McGregor now would sideline the former featherweight champion for up to a year while the Irishman completes his rehabilitation and fight camp. McGregor has publicly pushed for the bout to be rescheduled, but the promotion has not committed to any opponent or date for his return.

International Fight Week 2027 would mark two years since McGregor last stepped into the octagon at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
