Cejudo Calls For Dvalishvili Trilogy After 36-Second Pin
Henry Cejudo wants a trilogy with Merab Dvalishvili after pinning the former UFC bantamweight champion in 36 seconds at RAF 12 Saturday night in Cleveland.
Cejudo entered the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse looking to avenge a collapse in their first RAF meeting, where he blew an 8-0 lead before gassing and losing 11-8. The rematch went differently. Triple C secured the pin before a minute had elapsed, leaving Dvalishvili no chance to rally.
Cejudo Credits Conditioning For Reversal Of Fortune
At the post-fight press conference, Cejudo told reporters that preparation made the difference, per MMA Fighting. "I went out to Amsterdam, N.Y. in upstate New York, and I just dedicated myself for a whole month and a half," he said. "After getting beat up by Merab in Georgia. I've just got to stay disciplined and dedicated."
Despite the decisive result, Cejudo confirmed he is pushing for a third bout. "I've been wrestling since I was a kid but that doesn't mean anything," he said, according to the outlet. "It's humbling but I'm excited for the trilogy."
Cejudo is now 2-1 under the RAF banner, with his other win coming over Urijah Faber in February. No word yet on whether the promotion will grant the tiebreaker or move both men into fresh matchups.
