Cejudo Makes Pro Boxing Debut Against Walton

Henry Cejudo makes his professional boxing debut against Javon Walton at Misfits Boxing on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. The welterweight bout headlines a five-fight card streaming on DAZN starting at 6 p.m. ET, as MMA Mania first reported.

Cejudo replaces original opponent Deen The Great, who backed out earlier this month. Walton, known for his role on Euphoria, has boxed professionally since childhood. Tickets start at $34.25.

How Cejudo's Wrestling Background Translates To Boxing

DAZN host Lauren Blake Boultier told Brobible the matchup fascinates her because of the contrast between Cejudo's combat sports pedigree and Walton's lifelong boxing training. "People don't realize he's been a professional boxer his whole life," she said of Walton. "That's what makes the matchup interesting."

Boultier added that the former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion likely won't approach the ring like a typical MMA crossover. "The big question is how he closes the distance when there's no threat of a takedown," she said. "This isn't wrestling. That's what I'll be watching for."

The main card also features Fox Townley defending the Misfits lightweight title against Justin Ibarrola, and Tony Ferguson putting his middleweight strap on the line against Mahmoud Sebie at 175 pounds.
