Carlos Prates banks $100K bonus at UFC Perth
Welterweight Carlos Prates walked away from UFC Perth with an extra $100,000 in his pocket.
The Brazilian earned a performance bonus for his knockout victory over hometown favourite Jack Della Maddalena in Saturday's main event at RAC Arena, according to Sherdog. Prates dropped Della Maddalena with a body kick in the second round before finishing him with ground strikes.
Prates unfazed by Della Maddalena power
The win marked the biggest of Prates' UFC career and moved him into contention at 170 pounds. Speaking after the fight, he said he had not been concerned about Della Maddalena's finishing ability despite the Australian's reputation as one of the division's heaviest hitters.
The UFC typically awards four $50,000 bonuses per event but increased the payout for Perth, with only performance awards handed out rather than separate fight of the night honours. Prates was among the recipients on a card that saw several stoppages.
UFC Perth marked the promotion's first visit to Western Australia since 2024. The organisation returns to North America next month for a Fight Night event in Las Vegas.
