Canelo On Mbilli: 'Has To Do A Lot Of Things' To Win

Canelo Alvarez says Christian Mbilli will need to bring far more than his undefeated record to beat him when they meet in the ring.

Speaking to ESPN, the Mexican superstar acknowledged his recent loss to Terence Crawford but made clear he views Mbilli as facing an uphill climb. "He has to do a lot of things" to pull off the upset, Alvarez said, per the network's interview.

What Mbilli Must Overcome Against Canelo

The comment comes as Alvarez prepares for the Mbilli challenge while still processing his Crawford defeat. The Cameroonian contender enters the fight with an unblemished record but limited experience against elite opposition at the championship level.

Alvarez discussed the trajectory of his career in the sit-down, touching on both the Crawford setback and his plans moving forward. The former multi-division champion has faced questions about his future after the loss but appears focused on the task ahead.

The Mbilli fight represents Canelo's next step in answering critics who questioned his standing after the Crawford bout. A date and venue have not been officially announced.
