Bryan Battle vs. Dalton Rosta headlines PFL Charlotte Aug. 7
Bryan Battle will face Dalton Rosta in a middleweight main event at PFL Charlotte on Aug. 7, the Professional Fighters League announced Wednesday.
The card takes place at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the ESPN broadcast set for 10 p.m. ET. Two other middleweight pairings round out the announced lineup: Joshua Silveira against Aaron Jeffery and Josh Fremd against Jhony Gregory, per Sherdog.
Both Fighters Enter on Losing Skids
Battle joined PFL last year after a 7-1 UFC run that ended amid persistent weight-cutting struggles. The American Top Team product dropped his promotional debut to former middleweight champion Johnny Eblen via first-round submission at PFL Pittsburgh in March.
Rosta has split his four PFL appearances and enters on a two-fight skid. The fighter known as Hercules absorbed a first-round knockout against Impa Kasanganay at the same March Pittsburgh event, six months after Fabian Edwards stopped him in similar fashion. Rosta won 11 of his first 12 pro bouts before the current slide.
The matchup gives both middleweights a chance to stop the bleeding and establish momentum in the PFL's 185-pound division.
