Bilal Hasan needed less than a minute to make his case for a UFC contract at Contender Series on Tuesday night.

The former CFFC flyweight champion stopped India's Mridul Saikia at 45 seconds of the first round in the season 10 opener at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, per MMA Mania. Hasan opened with side kicks and a heavy low kick before Saikia threw a lazy calf kick that left him exposed. Hasan countered with a right hand that dropped Saikia, then landed follow-up punches until the referee stopped it.

Hasan improves to 9-0 with an 88 percent finish rate — seven knockouts and one submission — and defended his CFFC flyweight title three times before getting the call to Contender Series. The 25-year-old has been considered one of the top flyweight prospects in the world outside the UFC, and the performance should lock in a contract offer from Dana White.

Hasan celebrated the finish with a moonwalk across the cage. He could make his UFC debut as soon as later this year if the promotion moves quickly on the contract.
