Benn On Garcia Title Shot: 'Everything I've Dreamed Of'
Conor Benn heads into his WBC welterweight title challenge against Ryan Garcia on September 12 as the betting underdog, a role he says suits him perfectly.
In a recent Sky Sports interview, Benn said the Las Vegas showdown represents the payoff for years of grinding. "This is everything I've dreamed of and worked hard for so I'm leaving no stone unturned and just making sure I give myself every possible chance in coming out victorious," he told the network.

Benn Embraces Underdog Status Ahead Of Garcia Clash
The Brit enters the fight having not campaigned at welterweight in four years, a cut he called challenging but necessary. He said he expects it to be his final appearance at 147 pounds. Benn dismissed talk of Garcia's pre-fight antics, saying he is focused on landing a clean shot. "I'm just going to go in there and do what I do, which is plant one on his chin and try put him to sleep," he said.
Benn closed as underdog despite selling out stadium shows in the UK earlier in his career. He said the jump from domestic headliner to Las Vegas title challenger still feels surreal. The camp has been intense, with Benn emphasizing that every prior fight prepared him for this moment.
