Bella Mir Returns To Wrestling After DWCS Loss

Bella Mir is returning to wrestling after her mixed martial arts debut ended in defeat.

Real American Freestyle announced Thursday that the former NCAA champion will face Hope Chase at RAF 14 on Oct. 23 at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, according to Sherdog. The event streams on Fox Nation and marks Mir's first competitive outing since she lost on Dana White's Contender Series earlier this year.

Mir Pivots Back To Wrestling After MMA Setback

Mir captured an NCAA women's wrestling title before making the jump to MMA. She now shifts back to the mat as she looks to bounce back from the DWCS defeat against Chase, who will be listed at middleweight on the card.

The RAF 14 lineup includes several crossover bouts featuring UFC fighters in wrestling matches. Brendan Allen replaced Michael Page against Alexander Shlemenko after the British striker withdrew. Other notable pairings include Arman Tsarukyan versus Dillon Danis, Khamzat Chimaev against Robbie Lawler at catchweight, and Jordan Burroughs taking on Michael Caliendo.

Mir is the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, who held the title twice during a career that spanned 16 years with the promotion. The younger Mir had been considered a prospect in women's MMA before the DWCS loss shifted her immediate focus back to wrestling.
