BBC Sport Launches Born to Brawl Documentary Series

BBC Sport has released a documentary series profiling combat sports athletes at pivotal career junctures, with episodes featuring Claressa Shields, Chris Eubank Jr, and Paddy Pimblett among others.

The Born to Brawl series, according to BBC Sport, tracks boxers and mixed martial artists through defining stretches of their careers and personal lives. Each episode lets fighters narrate their own stories, offering viewers access to the demands and sacrifices behind competitive fighting.

Shields, Eubank Jr and Pimblett Lead Episodes

Shields, the undisputed middleweight world champion, discusses her path to the top of the sport in one installment. Eubank Jr examines growing up as boxing royalty and carving out his own legacy in the middleweight ranks. Pimblett's episode covers his journey to a UFC debut in Las Vegas after twice declining offers from the promotion earlier in his career.

The series also spotlights Olympic medalist Cindy Ngamba, who left refugee status in Bolton to medal at the Games, and UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who went from near-broke to headlining cards. Natasha Jonas details her comeback to claim three world titles at 37, while Shannon Courtenay shares how boxing pulled her out of addiction struggles before she captured the WBA bantamweight strap after just eight pro fights.
