Ariane Lipski retires from MMA after PFL San Diego loss
Former KSW flyweight champion Ariane Lipski has retired from mixed martial arts after losing by first-round submission to Jena Bishop at PFL San Diego on Saturday.
The Brazilian, who competed under the moniker "The Queen of Violence," posted her retirement announcement on Instagram after the defeat. Lipski compiled an 18-12 professional record across nearly 13 years, with stops in the UFC, PFL, and KSW, per Sherdog.
From KSW Title to UFC Struggles
"Officially retired from MMA," Lipski wrote. "Everything has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Yesterday was the last time I stepped into the cage, bringing to a close a journey of nearly 13 years as a professional MMA fighter." She went on to thank supporters and said she hoped to have helped create opportunities for the next generation of female fighters.
The 32-year-old built her reputation in Poland's KSW promotion, where she went 5-0 and captured the flyweight title while finishing four opponents inside the distance. Her UFC run proved uneven — she went 6-8 overall but strung together three straight wins in 2023 over J.J. Aldrich, Melissa Gatto, and Casey O'Neill before dropping her last three Octagon appearances.
Lipski left the UFC and moved to the PFL, where she beat Sumiko Inaba in March before Saturday's loss to Bishop ended her career. She exits the sport having dropped four of her final five bouts.
