Alyshov earned the opportunity through consecutive submission wins over Jeremy Pacatiw and Carlo Bumina-ang, finishes that arrived quicker than the 27-year-old anticipated. He trains out of Team Chingiz Allazov, named for the former ONE featherweight kickboxing champion who blazed the trail for Azerbaijani fighters in the promotion.

Family Motivation Drives Title Chase

Alyshov has been transparent about his financial motivation. He told the outlet that his family does not own a home and that he fights to provide security for those closest to him. "I have dreams. My family does not have a house, and I would like to help my entire family and the people close to me," he said, according to BJ Penn. "I am fighting for something greater, and this moment would truly mean so much to me."

The challenger acknowledged the broader stakes attached to Friday's bout. A generation of young Azerbaijani athletes is watching to see if global MMA success is within reach. "For Azerbaijan, having a new MMA world champion in ONE Championship would be hugely significant," Alyshov said. "MMA is also developing rapidly in Azerbaijan right now. This would be an enormous step forward for its growth and a great source of motivation for the younger generation."
