Allan Nascimento Dies At 34 After Heart Attack

UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento died Monday after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep, the promotion confirmed. He was 34.

Nascimento was found unresponsive on Aug. 3 and pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by medical responders, according to a statement the UFC posted on social media. "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan's family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," the promotion wrote.

Chute Boxe Pays Tribute To Nascimento

His team, Chute Boxe, called Nascimento more than an athlete in their own tribute. "We have lost a warrior, a friend, a dedicated competitor, and an extraordinary human being who earned the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of knowing him," the Brazilian gym posted, per Sherdog. "Allan inspired on and off the mats with his determination, humility, respect and fighting spirit."

Nascimento compiled a 22-7 record over a career that began in regional muay thai in 2008. His lean build earned him the nickname "Puro Osso" — skin and bones. After a decade grinding through regional circuits, he reached the UFC in 2021 and posted a 4-2 mark in the Octagon.

He dropped a split decision to Mitch Raposo in June at a UFC event. No next fight had been announced.
