Adesanya Touts Best Camp In Years After CKB Split
Israel Adesanya claims his preparation for a reported UFC Saudi Arabia appearance has been his strongest in years following his split from City Kickboxing.
The former middleweight champion has lost four consecutive bouts since finishing Alex Pereira in 2023, including defeats to Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, and Joe Pyfer. Following the Pyfer loss, Adesanya left the New Zealand gym where he spent his entire UFC career. Multiple outlets report he will face Shara Magomedov in Saudi Arabia.

In a YouTube video, Adesanya said building a team focused solely on his needs has transformed his approach. "This is the best I've felt in a very long time," he said, per MMA Fighting. He acknowledged the claim sounds formulaic but insisted the change has made a genuine difference.
Adesanya told viewers the camp ranks as his most enjoyable since defeating Pereira nearly four years ago. He added that he's been carrying the conditioning he typically hits during fight week for several weeks already, and expects to arrive in even better condition when weigh-ins come.
The middleweight contender closed with profanity-laced enthusiasm about his physical state heading into the bout. His Saudi Arabia appearance would mark his first Octagon walk since parting ways with City Kickboxing.
