Mike Tyson Resorts To Hypnosis For The Jake Paul Fight
Mike Tyson is taking extra steps to ensure he beats Jake Paul by using hypnosis.
Tyson has his first pro fight since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005. Tyson was stopped, ending a career that once made him the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the world. Since then, he has boxed on one occasion in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr. The exhibition ended in a draw. Now, Tyson takes on Paul in a pro fight.
Tyson’s Preparation
The July 20 clash will air on Netflix. The pre-sale ticket prices have been released, with some going for $2 million. The huge interest has gotten Tyson fired up for the fight. He is training three times a day. He has also decided to eat a raw meat diet and impose a ban on sex and weed. Now, hypnosis is the latest thing the boxer has adopted to get an edge.
“I’m an exponent of hypnosis. I was raised off of hypnosis since I was 13, 14, to the end of my career. I always had hypnosis before I fought. It only works with, and only certain people get it. Not everybody gets it. I guess that’s what life is all about.
“Not everybody’s the same, but I got it, and it’s all about reaching your self conscious. You have a connection with your self-consciousness and your ferociousness. “Everything’s about being connected and using that for your fighting. Everything’s love. Everything is connected to love. Even us that’s going to war. I got hooked back. And it’s war, and there’s love. Everything’s love,” Tyson said
Tyson’s Mindset
Tyson also spoke about the importance of his Islamic faith. The boxer was arrested in 1992 following a rape conviction. It was during this period that Tyson decided to convert to Islam. That discipline allowed the boxer to recover from major setbacks. He rebuilt his image and came back from bankruptcy. The boxer has set up his marijuana business, Mike Tyson 2.0. The business is currently selling products in 24 states. Tyson thanked his new-found faith for his current state of mind.
“I’m a Muslim. But the journey, the spiritual journey, appears to never be over. It’s just if spirituality changes your intellect changes. Your soul changes, your spirituality changes. And I’m just at the stage now when, you know, I’m ready to meet God. [I’m at peace], Pretty much, yeah,” Tyson stated
Despite that being the case, there are worries over this fight. Tyson will be 58 and is taking on Paul, who is three decades younger. Paul has also boxed much more recently. He stopped Andre August last December, followed by a first-round KO against Ryan Bourland in March. Since Tyson does not need money, there are concerns over why he took this fight. Deontay Wilder was vocal about the dangers Tyson could get himself into, stating that he could end up in a coma if things go wrong. Boxing fans will hope he comes out in one piece.
