McGregor's Future Will Be 'Figured Out Soon' - Says Dana White

Dana White expects Conor McGregor’s next fight to be announced soon.

The Irishman has been absent from the sport following his loss and injury to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. A broken leg has kept him out for longer than expected, while McGregor’s issues with USADA also delayed his comeback. He had to provide two negative samples over six months before he could fight.

This failed to happen in 2023 as a fight with Michael Chandler failed to materialize. He has entered USADA testing, but his comeback has been delayed. McGregor wanted a return at UFC 300, but White dismissed that. A summer date was then teased, but McGregor became frustrated at the lack of movement over his career.

McGregor Frustrated

“The lads here [in Saudi Arabia] are talking Manny [Pacquiao in boxing], the UFC aren’t talking any. … Give me something. You know what I’m saying? I was supposed to be back in April [2024], I was supposed to be back in April. It was supposed to be December.

“They’ve never treated anyone [like this]. No one’s ever been treated [like this]. For all the figures I’ve brought in this game — I sell more than all of them combined, yeah? I sell more than every one of them combined.

“No one in the history of the fight game’s ever been treated the way I’m getting treated at this minute, yeah? Through what I came through to what I bring, they f***** should open floodgates for me, yeah? And I’m waiting. I’m waiting and I’m waiting. My patience is wearing thin on me waiting,” McGregor said

The longer McGregor stays inactive, the more difficult it will be to return. The UFC fighter’s last four fights include three losses. But White expects his future to be resolved soon.

White On McGregor

“I talked to Conor today. I’m in Abu Dhabi right now, Conor’s in Dubai. We talked tonight. He and I will get something figured out soon. We’re talking,” White stated

The former two-weight world champion also faces legal issues outside the octagon. His former sparring partner Artem Lobov has alleged that McGregor owes him money for selling his ‘Proper 12’ whiskey brand. Lobov states he was a co-founder.

McGregor would sell his stake in the brand for $130 million. Lobov was offered $1 million for his work but rejected it. Since then, McGregor claims the offer was for another beverage which did not launch. Lobov, however, has leaked messages allegedly from McGregor in an attempt to win his case.

“This fight and this whiskey deal, I am going to look after you. You are always there for me brother and I appreciate all of your work,” McGregor

Lobov: “Thank you so much Conor, I won’t take anything for the camp as it’s great for me and my skill also and I am delighted to be there, so please don’t send me money for it, please! The whiskey is going to be huge!!! Audie told me that you are giving me a percentage, thank you very much for that, it’s going to be a massive success,” Lobov

“Don’t worry bout it my brother,” McGregor
