McGregor Eyes A Fight With Belal Muhammad

Conor McGregor is eyeing a fight with UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad.
McGregor has not had a UFC fight since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. That was the third loss in McGregor’s previous four UFC fights. The Irishman broke his leg, which has kept him out since then. The Notorious was meant to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29. But he had to pull out with a broken toe. Dana White has stated that McGregor will fight early next year. However, Chandler has moved on since then.
He will rematch Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 on November 16. A win takes him a step closer to a title shot against UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev. McGregor has now turned his attention to Muhammad. Belal won the title at UFC 304 against Leon Edwards. Belal dominated his man to win a single one-sided unanimous decision. Now, McGregor is eying that fight as Belal responded
McGregor Reacts
“He’s woeful. I wanna fight him. Okay, Chandler is matched, Belal, McGregor, UFC welterweight world title on the line. I’ve got multiple knockouts at 170 [pounds]. I’m a force to be reckoned with at 170. I do damage at 170, yeah? Check the stats. This man [Muhammad] hasn’t even gotten a knockdown in UFC history. Not one knockdown. It’s embarrassing, to be honest,” McGregor said
If that fight does not happen, McGregor also has another possible bout. He recently responded to UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria, who had a few words to say about the Irishman. He felt that McGregor was not the fighter he used to be, the two-weight world champion. He has three losses out of his last four UFC bouts, which raised questions over whether he would return to his best.
Other Options
Topuria will now face BMF Champion Max Holloway at UFC 308. He is coming off the best career-win when he stopped Alexander Volkanovski. It ended the Australian’s four-year reign as champion, giving him the first stoppage loss of his career. A rematch was entertained, and a McGregor fight was also mentioned. But the Georgian is not interested in McGregor. He has previously said that he wants to model himself as becoming a major PPV star like McGregor, but he downplayed the Irishman’s skills. McGregor then had his say.
“I wouldn’t like to fight McGregor. I mean, McGregor would be an option if I could fight him. But, right now, I’m telling you, that if they offered me a fight with him I’d say no because there are bigger fights than him… I know he is not what it he was. He’s not that McGregor who moved the masses. He’s a McGregor who represents alcohol and drugs more than sport. I have been inspired by Conor. I admired him when I was little. And, he lost it because he has betrayed the values that brought him to the top. We have lost an idol,” Topuria said
“How do you think you’d beat Ilia Topuria? I’d grab him by the scruff of the chest and slap the little nose off of him. Little ding dong of a thing he is. I’m in Marbella at the Bare Knuckle, we’ll see what’s what. You little fool, I’ll cave ya head in. Ya little short…tick, I’ll box your jaw in on sight, I’m in Marbella, Spain, Oct. 12 at the bare knuckle. See what happens, see what happens when you come across me,” McGregor stated
