Jon Jones Reacts To Tom Aspinall’s Call Out - 'I Love It'

Jon Jones has reacted to Tom Aspinall’s call out after the latter’s UFC 304 win.

Aspinall knocked out Curtis Blaydes in round one, avenging his 2022 loss. Dana White confirmed that the winner would face either Jon Jones or Stipe Miocic, who are expected to face off. Jones is in line to return from his injury and face Miocic by the end of the year. After having beaten the best names in the division, Aspinall turned his attention towards Jones. Tom no longer intends to defend his interim belt, setting up the narrative for a heavyweight title fight.

Aspinall Vs. Jones

“What a human being this guy is. I had nothing against him personally but we needed to put that one to bed. I got my revenge, thank god. I’m the best finisher in the UFC. If I smell blood, you’re done. I just spoke to the boss man, who wants to see Tom Aspinall versus Jon Jones? Hello Jon, I have nothing against you personally but I think I’m better than you,” Aspinall said

Aspinall has also suggested the idea of doing a tournament where the best heavyweights take each other on. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira has suggested moving up to heavyweight. However, he admitted that he would only do so if he could fight Jon Jones since the American holds the heavyweight Title. But to do that, Aspinall was clear that the best had to face each other. He suggested the following format to do it.

“Here’s a thought for you. I was thinking about this the other day. What about, so they’re saying that Stipe and Jon Jones are going to fight at MSG in November. Why don’t we do a tournament, we’ll do Jon vs. Stipe and Me vs. Alex, and do a full-on tournament. Two fights in one night and let’s find out who the real heavyweight champion of the world is,” Aspinall stated

Jones Reacts

Regardless, Jones has now been forced to address Aspinall. Before the Blaydes fight, Jones felt Curtis would come out on top. He referenced Blaydes’ performance in the first Aspinall fight.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Curtis won, I’ve seen scenarios like this time and time again. Dude prematurely drinking his own Kool-Aid ends up with a huge piece of humble pie. I mean If Sergei can touch Tom that easy, I’m sure Curtis can too. When Curtis decides to go, he’s a lot faster than people realize, and he hits hard. A few well-timed shots and that strong top game, it could be a long night for old Tommy boy. Either way, I’ll be watching, excited to have some additional footage,” Jones revealed

Blaydes was landing on Aspinall before the Brit injured his knee. The UFC Heavyweight Champion expected Blaydes to be too much, thus preventing him from facing Aspinall. Now that this has been disproven, Jones gave his thoughts on an Aspinall fight.

“Supply and demand at its finest, I love it,” Jones stated
