An MMA showdown between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz could take place later down the line.

MVP co-founder Nikita Bidarian highlighted that while past negotiations with the PFL faltered, the current “financial infrastructure” provided by Netflix has created the perfect environment for the fight. The potential clash serves as a sequel to their August 2023 boxing match, which saw Paul secure a unanimous decision victory in Dallas. Since then, both fighters have navigated vastly different paths leading back to the cage.

Paul is currently recovering from a severe injury sustained in his last outing. In December 2025, Paul suffered a double jaw fracture during a sixth-round knockout loss to heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The injury required the surgical insertion of two titanium plates, delaying his 2026 combat sports plans.

Unlike Paul, Diaz is heading straight back into MMA. He is scheduled to face the “King of Violence,” Mike “Platinum” Perry, on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The Diaz-Perry bout will serve as the undercard attraction for Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano Netflix event.

Bidarian Reacts

Bidarian suggested that should Diaz emerge victorious against Perry and Paul receives full medical clearance from his jaw specialists, the MMA rematch could headline a dedicated Netflix event in late 2026.

“It’s kind of funny, Nate Diaz called Jake out for MMA. I know that Jake is going to come out and say ‘listen, beat Mike Perry and we can run it in MVP MMA, so we’ll see how that develops. I think similar to Paul-Tyson this is our first event with Netflix in MMA,” Bidarian explained. I am confident the event will do well, depending on how well it does I’m also very confident we will do more MVP MMA events with Netflix and potentially others.

“If you recall, Jake talked about doing MMA against Nate Diaz for a long time in PFL,” Bidarian continued. “The numbers just couldn’t work for Nate Diaz in terms of what he wanted and what PFL wanted to do. Maybe things change,” Bidarian said
