Liz Carmouche vs. Viviane Araujo set for PFL San Diego co-main
Former Bellator flyweight champion Liz Carmouche will face UFC veteran Viviane Araujo in the PFL San Diego co-main event June 27 at Pechanga Arena, the promotion announced Wednesday.
Carmouche, 42, swept through the PFL flyweight tournament in 2025 with three straight wins including a knockout over Jena Bishop in the finals. The San Diego native bounced back from her lone PFL loss — a decision to Taila Santos in 2024 — and has now gone 12-1 since leaving the UFC in 2019, per MMA Fighting.

Araujo enters off her first PFL victory, a decision over Shanna Young in April. The 39-year-old Brazilian went 7-6 in the UFC before signing with PFL, notching wins over Karine Silva, Jennifer Maia and Andrea Lee while dropping decisions to Tracy Cortez, Natalia Silva and Alexa Grasso. According to Sherdog, Carmouche sits at No. 2 in PFL’s flyweight rankings while Araujo checks in at ninth.
No title is on the line, but the promotion suggested the bout could crown the next challenger for undefeated Dakota Ditcheva, who recently returned from a hand injury that sidelined her for several months. The PFL San Diego main card airs on ESPN 2 at 10 p.m. ET, with featherweight contenders A.J. McKee and Salamat Isbulaev topping the bill.
