Jake Paul Shows Off His Insane Hand Speed
Jake Paul showed off his hand speed as he prepares to take on Mike Perry on July 20.
Paul’s preparation for this fight has been hampered. He was first set to face Mike Tyson. However, Iron Mike had to withdraw with an inflamed ulcer. That fight will now take place on November 15 as Perry steps in. The Problem Child is full of confidence based on his current form. He has won three on the bounce since his sole loss against Tommy Fury. Victories over Nate Diaz, Andre August and Ryan Bourland repaired his brand.
The performances against August and Bourland were praised as Paul appeared focused on fighting pro boxers. The decision to face Perry is a step backwards. Perry is a former UFC fighter who left in 2021. He lost four of his previous five UFC fights, suggesting he was no longer at the peak of his powers. But since he made a switch over to BKFC, he has reinvented himself.
Jake Paul’s Shadow Boxing
Perry has a 5-0 record, making him one of the biggest fighters in the sport. He was in talks to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a boxing match on the Paul-Tyson card. But he turned it down because the purse was not high enough. Perry’s sole boxing fight took place in 2015 against Kenneth McNeil. He was knocked out, making it an uneventful boxing debut. Both fighters have been working, as Paul showed off his instance hand speed. The following footage shows Jake shadowboxing as he aims to light up Perry.

If Paul wins, he has offered Perry the chance to run things back in the PFL in MMA. Jake made a similar offer to Nate Diaz after beating him last year via a unanimous decision. A $10 million offer was put on the table. PFL Chairman Donn Davis increased that to $15 million. Nate did not take the offer up. However, following Diaz’s win over Jorge Masvidal in their boxing clash, he called out Paul. But first, Paul wants to pursue an MMA fight with Perry, who is more keen on bareknuckle.
Paul vs Perry MMA
“I’m down, when I beat Mike Perry in boxing, [let’s do] it. We can run it in MMA. I want an MMA fight, I mean, the [PFL] smart cage is literally right there. Once I start in MMA, my wrestling background is going to come out, and I think I’ll be a very dangerous MMA fighter as well. So, Mike Perry can get it, my hands are trisexual,” Paul said
“Cap! Why not bare-knuckle? Why not box bare-knuckle? I’ll take your back, jiu-jitsu is not something that just, wrestling and jiu-jitsu that’s not something you just keep in your back pocket,” Perry stated
It is a massive opportunity for both fighters. They will make history by becoming the first fighters to headline on Netflix in front of a massive audience. The crossover appeal is huge, providing a much-necessary boost to their brand.
