Professional Career

Michael Magnesi began his professional journey on October 10, 2015, with a points victory over Carmelo Palermo at the Palasport V.le Tiziano in Rome, Italy. Magnesi quickly built momentum, securing several wins through knockouts and unanimous decisions, such as his early knockout victories against Davide Bono and Valerio Mazzulla. Magnesi’s rise in the super-featherweight division continued as he captured various titles. On June 30, 2018, he won the vacant Italian super-featherweight title by defeating Francesco Invernizio via a third-round TKO. He then successfully defended his title against Giuseppe Carafa on November 10, 2018. Magnesi’s international acclaim grew when he claimed the vacant IBF Mediterranean super-featherweight title on March 24, 2019, by defeating Ruddy Encarnacion, who retired after the fourth round.

Continuing his winning streak, Magnesi captured the vacant WBC International Silver super-featherweight title on June 21, 2019, with a tenth-round knockout of Emanuel López. His prowess was further demonstrated when he won the vacant IBO Inter-Continental super-featherweight title by forcing Breilor Teran to retire after the fourth round on February 29, 2020. Magnesi’s crowning achievement came on November 27, 2020, when he won the vacant IBO super-featherweight title by knocking out Patrick Kinigamazi in the fifth round.

Magnesi successfully defended his IBO title multiple times, including a first-round TKO over Khanyile Bulana on April 23, 2021, and a fifth-round TKO against Dennis Contreras on April 9, 2022. However, he faced a setback on September 24, 2022, losing his IBO title to Anthony Cacace via a split decision in Manchester, England. Rebounding from the loss, Magnesi won the vacant WBC Silver super-featherweight title on March 31, 2023, with a unanimous decision victory over Ayrton Osmar Gimenez. He retained this title against Nike Theran on October 27, 2023, in Rome, Italy. However, his reign ended on March 22, 2024, when he lost to Masanori Rikiishi via a twelfth-round TKO at the Palazzetto Romboli in Colleferro, Italy.
