Professional Career

 

Gabriela Fundora, an emerging force in women’s boxing, has quickly made a name for herself with an impressive string of victories and titles. She began her professional career on May 15, 2021, with a unanimous decision win over Jazmin Valverde at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Fundora continued her early success with another unanimous decision victory against Indeya Smith on July 3, 2021, at the same venue. Fundora’s knockout power became evident when she secured a first-round TKO against Karol Mazariegos Gonzalez on August 21, 2021, at Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico. She followed this with a fourth-round RTD win over Jessica Martinez Castillo on September 25, 2021, in San Martín Texmelucan, Mexico. Despite a no-contest result against Alejandra Soto Martinez on October 23, 2021, in La Paz, Mexico, Fundora quickly returned to her winning ways.

 

On January 14, 2022, Fundora won a unanimous decision against Nataly Delgado at Centro de Convenciones Vasco Núñez de Balboa in Panama City, Panama. She then demonstrated her knockout prowess with a second-round TKO against Estrella Valverde on February 26, 2022, at Domo Deportivo Metropolitano in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Mexico, followed by another second-round TKO win over Rubi Marisol Molina Sanchez on April 29, 2022, at Arena Neza in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl. Fundora continued her dominance with a unanimous decision victory over Lucia Hernandez Nunez on July 28, 2022, at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. She claimed the vacant WBC Latino flyweight title with a unanimous decision win against Naomi Arellano Reyes on October 8, 2022, at Dignity Health Sports Park. Her winning streak extended into 2023, where she secured the vacant WBC Youth flyweight title by defeating Tania Garcia Hernandez on February 23 in Mexico City.

 

On April 8, 2023, Fundora triumphed over Maria Micheo Santizo with a unanimous decision at Dignity Health Sports Park. Her career reached new heights when she won the IBF flyweight title by knocking out Arely Muciño in the fifth round on October 21, 2023, at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Fundora successfully defended her IBF flyweight title on January 27, 2024, with a tenth-round TKO victory over Christina Cruz at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
