This debut set the stage for a series of impressive performances, highlighting his potential as a rising star in the boxing world. On August 8, 2020, he defeated Lennox Allen by unanimous decision at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, demonstrating his ability to go the distance against seasoned opponents. This victory marked the beginning of his reign in the super middleweight division, which he solidified with a series of dominant title defenses.
One of Morrell’s standout performances came on June 27, 2021, when he knocked out Mario Abel Cazares in the first round at the Minneapolis Armory. This victory, achieved in just 2 minutes and 32 seconds, showcased his explosive power and ability to end fights quickly. He continued to defend his WBA (Regular) super middleweight title successfully, including a TKO win over Alantez Fox on December 18, 2021, and another TKO against Kalvin Henderson on June 4, 2022, both held at the Minneapolis Armory.
